Fall Flowers

Fall Flowers

Fall is an amazing time of year for flowers on the farm.  It is the true harvest season and flowers that have been working hard all summer are finally giving their last blooms before the frost comes and takes them away from us for this year.  You see everything from crisp whites, stunning blushes and neutrals, to bright bold jewel tones!  See below for the types of flowers that are showing off in Fall.

  • Dahlias

Dahlias come in all shapes, sizes, and colors. From the sweet ball dahlias to the majestic dinner plate dahlias, these babies are the stunners of the Fall!

  • Strawflower

These beauties come in many colors and are beautiful fresh and dried. Their petals have an almost paper like consistency which makes them a beautiful textural element in design and personal flowers.

  • Zinnias

Zinnias are the workhorse of the fall garden. They have gotten a bad reputation as a "farm flower," but with new colors being bred into them we are seeing them more and more in event and wedding work. They are a cheerful flower that will bring a smile to everyone who sees them.

  • Statice

Statice is another flower that is stunning both fresh and dried. Mostly know for its bright whites and deep blue/purples, this is a beautiful accent flower for any arrangement. In recent years more and more colors have been bred so we are seeing yellows and peach tones too.

  • Marigolds

Such a bright pop of color when added to any event, these marigold are so fun to design with. They give a beautiful shape and texture to an arrangement and smell amazing!

  • Celosia

Crested, plume, wheat, or brains these flowers are the most amazing accent flowers of the fall. The use of celosia can be the difference in impact of an arrangement. We LOVE celosia here at Appleberry and grow so many different types and colors!

  • Amaranth

This drippy beauty is here to bring all the drama to your fall floral arrangements. She looks amazing in installations or bouquets when you need something a little extra.

  • Eucalyptus

We grow a few different varieties of eucalyptus here at Appleberry Farm to hep us with a reliable fall green for every occasion.
